is a Norwegian actress and filmmaker graduated from The American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Los Angeles. After finishing The Academy Company it took only weeks before she booked her first international commercial, and she has since gone on to do work in film and television both in the United States, Norway and England.
Having experience in a multitude of acting techniques, ranging from Chubbuck to Meisner to Stanisvlaskij enables Mari to choose a unique approach to each character she portrays. Fluent in English with both an English and American accent, she is fortunate to be able to work across the world.
In addition to her acting degree Mari also holds a BA in film directing. Her short film work has traveled the film festival circuit internationally, among them her thesis film QUEEN, which after its completion in june 2021 has already won multiple awards internationally.
As a director Mari thrives in the collaborative effort that is creating, and strives to tell stories of the people who are often overlooked. Her background in acting gives her a unique insight to the work of bringing the story to life in collaboration with her actors.
Mari is currently part of the team of writers working on the new teen TV show "VGS" which will air on Norway's national channel NRK, for which she will direct multiple episodes. She is also in development with the short film "Through the Mud", through the program for young female directors at Mediefabrikken.
